Fast Food Fix
You are right about the fast food. It is bad, especially since you are coming from a workout. What your body needs after dance class is protein to feed all those muscles you worked and some complex carbs for the energy to get you through your tutoring session. You don’t need a growling stomach distracting you from an attempt to memorize the periodic table. One good option is something that you might not have eaten since your mom packed your lunch for you…a peanut butter sandwich. Using a natural peanut butter (make sure you read the label so you know for sure that there is no sugar added) and a couple slices of sprouted whole grain bread will certainly quell those hunger pangs. Another option is packing some wheat crackers and a Starkist Tuna individual serving pouch. They even make one with a spoon and some low-fat mayo so you can mix your own tuna salad. A great thing to always have too is some homemade trail mix. Use at least three different nuts, some sugar-free coconut flakes, dried fruit, and a pinch of salt. Munching on that should see you through until you get home when, if you are still hungry, a small healthy meal might be more readily available.
